getgo: like you say I suspect it is show me some top line growth before I bid up the price of your stock ? Also the incremental increase in revenues is not that big considering the LSI has a run-rate of about 1.3 billion.

I could argue that this will be a very high volume chip which would fit very well with the new fab. Then again there are probably some well placed current competitors.

getgo234, I am speculating here but my thought is that the market reaction would be a lot more positive if LSI had developed a comparable chip for the CDMA, rather than GSM, camp. No doubt that GSM still has the largest market share, but also no doubt that CDMA's growth rate considerably exceeds GSM. Since LSI makes ASICs for Qualcomm, I would hope that they would turn attention to CDMA sooner, rather than later. Regards, Mike Doyle
