In the 1998 elections, the Dems with Clinton were looking at losing 30-40 House seats and losing enough seats in the Senate so that the Reps could defeat the filibuster. That was before the latest broke.

Maybe they think Gore's "honeymoon" would help then staunch the usual 6th year drubbing the incumbent's party gets.

They may also know that Clinton was going to be taken out by Starr eventually anyway and this is the best time for a push - get him out on this to stop investigation into far bigger Dem wrongdoing (fundraising etc.).

Regards

Hey Wait a minute! Clinton is a Globalist too! Don't you remember, right after the last election ? He took AirForce One and flew direct to the Philippines, and then on to Thailand. Where he could uh, well, I guess, uh globalize his interests ? Yeah thats it his interests.
