At least one of the Taiwan cases as I posted before was at TSMC, and 30 other workers were being isolated. If TSMC gets a significant outbreak, this will be a big impact on all the semis.

>so I expect, as we are already seeing, that we will have a much poorer response, and thus get rewarded with a much longer and more damaging experience. ...//... Both HK (+17 to 273) and Taiwan (+18 to 153) are growing again, so that is not encouraging.

Of the above statements, which seem to contradict each other and I think the flaw is in the first part, "that we will have a much poorer response, and thus get rewarded with a much longer and more damaging experience."

Not to make a big deal of it, but to my way of thinking a sharp raise, up slope will also make for a steeper down slope and a shorter duration. There should be a point where infections reach saturation and start to come down while deaths, trailing indicator are climbing. What we sorely need is much more testing.

You'll see flare-ups. Test, track, and quarantine...
