I generally go with Occam's razor... sometimes it is just what it appears. Country, states and World caught completely unprepared despite nearly a century of having this problem at a global level. People are dying due to lack of medical facilities. MDs and first responders lives in danger due to inadequate supplies and protection. Hollywood knew about it... I enjoyed 5 seasons of "The Last Ship" to see what could happen. en.wikipedia.org I wish they didn't kill off the beautiful Rhona Mitra as she found the cure. We need her now!
