Patrick,

Sun is a UNIX house and they have a lot of people trained in that area. They manufacturer their own hardware but not in the volume that DELL does. Their most profitable products are high end servers.

I do not know if this would be a good move for DELL. The culture is radically different than DELL's culture. SUN is full of in fighting and turfmanship. This is the way McNeely likes it. He plays dirty and he is a tough competitor. Lots of internal corruption in the company.

I thought DELL should of bought DEC or at least take over DEC's PC group. As far as DELL buying SUNW, no way no how, Scotty is way to full of himself to let that happen, further more, the man has been hit by too many hockey pucks to see that UNIX is dying a slow death.
