PS Over the years, I've exchanged some nice emails with Dr. John Swartzberg, clinical professor emeritus of infectious diseases and vaccinology, UC Berkeley School of Public Health who answers many of these questions. He has yet to convince me to become a vegan... but I've slashed my use of processed meat from years of reading his work in the Berkeley Wellness Letter.
