Michael, Actually I would say that a lot of people--not just women--didn't and don't hold Anita Hill or Clarence Thomas in very high esteem. I would say too that many people viewing the hearings or reading about them had not realized the extent to which the United States Senate had been overrun by buffoons. I think the main point being made with regard to women in the military is that the United States has never drafted women. However, women have willingly served their country in the military, the draft notwithstanding. It stands to reason that a person who volunteers for military service might be more motivated and intelligent than one who is conscripted at random. Hey, Mike, how 'bout those Broncos!
