...you've refused to extend Ms. Lewinsky the status of a quivering, pathetic, helpless victim...

Blaming everything on men seems to me a perversion of feminism. Lewinsky was, if her story's true, involved with Clinton for about two years: more than enough time to have come to a clear realization of what she was doing. I think she has to some extent been a victim of Ken Starr, but again she should have had the sense to keep her mouth shut, which is, after all, Rule Number One for those who choose to conduct clandestine affairs.

The double standard, from the NY Post:

"The militant feminists have gone silent as President Clinton is
accused of taking advantage of a young woman in his employ,
notes New York Post columnist Steve Dunleavy.
"Today I want the feminists to protest. I want them to
screech as loud as they did about Joey Buttafuoco," Mr.
Dunleavy said.
"I want them to scratch at Clinton the way they did with
Sen. Bob Packwood of Oregon.
"I want them to ravage Clinton the same way they ravaged
Clarence Thomas," even though "the accusations against
Thomas make him look like a sissy compared to Clinton."
The columnist added: "So why are there shrieks of silence
from the feminists and the pundits? I'll tell you why. Because
like the press corps in Washington, which I've happily grown to
detest, all these people are liberal Clinton apologists."
