Hi Charles - This article about the Compaq and Dec merger was interesting. There indeed could be 'some' future impact on Sun's stellar European sales growth. However, I believe our management will respond accordingly to maintain and even continue to grow our high end client/server enterprise (European) market share.

IMO it is HWP that may feel the biggest impact. Remember Sun still has the best price/performance technology and very efficient manufacturing and assembly production facilities in Europe and Asia. Sun's customer service and sales division in Europe continues to post excellent results. It appears that Compaq see's the (European) opportunity that Sun's has been able to develop but is only two years late.
