Frank, yes it does bother me. Unfortunately a government run system is not the answer. The medical 401K shows alot of promise to me, and should be tried on a large scale.

Who can afford it? Millions of people, and for a variety of reasons. HMO's are filling a large hole now.

The problem with going to a complete government run system is it's alot like throwing out the baby with the bath water. It doesn't work well and over time will become a stangnating wasteful currupt mess.

Universal Catastrophic Insurance makes sense, as well as some laws to protect people from being dropped from policies if they have long term needs. These kinds of hybrid approaches seem complicated to most Canadians, but I believe they offer a much more realistic long term solution.

Frank, trust me on this one.. The Canadian system is going to be really hurting in about 20 years. The costs are going to skyrocket!
Stand by for some massive changes, or some HUGE tax increases.
