What a steal!

I am today as bullish on CPQ as I was back when I posted my first enthusiastic comments about it two splits and many profits ago. With DEC added Compaq becomes a 37.5 billion dollar goliath with a penetration into the exploding mid-range NT market that all but guarantees she will reach 50 billion in short order. I cannot even fathom what this will do to the stock price once investors come to their senses and realize just what has happened. 9.6 billion?! For DEC!!? A company everyone valued at $70-$80 share fair acquisition value?! Compaq STOLE Digital today and people dumped the stock. I can only surmise that investors were taken by such great surprise that they failed to take the time and energy necessary to evaluate how lucrative this deal is for CPQ. Rather, they panic dumped the stock on the unexpected news. Now the media is raving about the deal and CPQ is getting some upgrades.

I expect we'll see a nice little rise tomorrow followed by a surge into the low $50's.
