The medium is the message Jamie. And the medium is education that develops the mind. All types of education. The only hope the human species has is to get smart enough to avoid our own extinction. And every person can benefit from education. Every person. The reason I am such a zealot about learning is that my read of history is that it has been ignorance down through the ages that has caused the vast amount of carnage and brutality. If I remember correctly most countries today do NOT allow gay marriage and in many countries being gay is either a prison sentence or death. I think most countries still make it a crime and 14 countries still have a death penalty; and female mutilation is still pervasive, as is arranged marriages. That is the result of pure ignorance! Our problems today are very complex and only minds capable of dealing with abstract thought can save us. Our ace in the hole are the women who seem to have both more humanity and better study habits which makes for sharper minds, than men.. Look at the political scene, women are running for office everywhere and usually as Democrats. And if one watches congressional hearings it is the women leading the fight for humanity e.g. Katie Porter.
