The Futures are going crazy on that news plus the good news from the Trump presser. I'm listening to the Trump daily press briefing now on delay. He said some states like Montana can go to phase one right now while others like NY and NJ are still a ways away but they have hit the peak and seem to be going down the hill, getting better. Crude oil is soaring... up 32%! It sounds like sports teams will play to empty arenas and stadiums at first in states that are "clean" so we can have sports on TV to enjoy. I think everyone will feel much better once we have some sports again for distraction from the typical hateful political bickering.

They got results, but at what ultimate price? That was exactly my reaction when I saw some of the very early tweets from China showing their draconian methods. My feeling then was that such methods would never be tolerated (i.e. followed) in this country. The results by state are very interesting. I cannot explain the excellent result in my own state of North Carolina since it does not seem we are doing anything differently than the rest of the counary. Perhaps with the exception that people here may be more rigidly following the distancing guidelines. Another factor was that we probably do not have as much international travel (especially China) and had the advantage of our population seeing the frightening results in NYC before we had many cases.
