I will admit that my readings about the holocaust that preceded my birth have colored my general thinking.

The more I read and see on film, the more I have to acknowledge that Hitler's enablers and torturers in the death camps were often highly educated Germans.

The many and brave acts of altruism were not a matter of education, or gender.

I think you and most here would act altruistically in the darkest hour. Our discussion is purely philosophical.

Most people here agree about the goals, we just argue about the multi-variable causes that got us here and are look to cause great harm to the coming generations.

Koan - I don't view you as authoritarian. However, you sometimes have a knack of presenting something as fact, when, in actuality, it is really subject to different interpretations.

I can give you an example from your above post. Although I would agree that some Republicans are anti-intellectual ( as well as some Democrats), I have met numerous Republicans and Conservatives who were very intellectual. My point is that intellectual is not a term just reserved for Democrats or liberals. I think Republicans look at the world primarily through money or wealth accumulation and screw others in the process of acquiring wealth.

Although we have had our moments over the years, I do basically like you and have learned to accept you for who you are.
