Those results are not surprising.

I believe "bending the curve" with SIP actually means more people get infected before it is over but fewer deaths because it spreads the worst cases out over time.

I also believe if there is no cure or vaccination, then the odds of survival are probably better if there is not shelter in place where you let everyone else go out and get it while you stay inside... let it burn through the population quickly then you go out when all clear. It could be better for the economy to kill more people quickly, but nobody wants to see 50 million deaths... or even 500,000 deaths if the kill rate is significantly lower than the Spanish Flu.
