Ohmar Bill To Cancel (not delay) Rent & Mortgage Obligation. This bill seems to illegally cancel contracts so I don't see how it could stand up in the Supreme Court, but President Obama was able to get GM bondholders to take a back seat to pensions so anything is possible. It might explain why banks and bank ETFs are so low in value despite having plenty of reserves and congress ALREADY adding $600 a week to unemployment checks that should make it easy for most to pay their rent and mortgages.
  • Is she doing this for headlines?
  • Would you make a loan to anyone who isn't wealthy if it was easy for representatives in congress to give your money away for votes?
  • Why should rich tech workers here in the Silicon Valley get free rent for fancy units while they are fully employed and working from home while those they are renting from might have a hard time paying their taxes without the rent?
  • Isn't that $600/week bonus to unemployment checks were giving at great cost to anyone out of work supposed to pay for rent and mortgages already? If it was an illegal alien worker here not eligible for those benefits, then the cities that allow and welcome them should be responsible...
