I wondered where all the folks are who believe all this Pat Robertson/Jerry Fallwell tripe that Clinton had people murdered in Arkansas, etc.. As P.J. O'Rouke said yesterday on one of the morning shows, all serious conservatives should run away fast from these kooks on the Right who keep the murder/conspiracy paranoia afloat. If such "conservatives" think we Ayn Rand or Barry Goldwater conservatives have much in common with Pat Robertson, they should re-read Rand's work and that loony book of Robertson's where he charges Clinton with murder and maintains his prayer turned a hurricane away from the North Carolina coast (I suppose he then should take credit for it hitting Long Island!) Pat Robertson et al are not, to my mind, conservatives. They are anti-intellectual, dishonest demagogues who pander to ignorance and despair (especially among the elderly) in order to line their own pockets. The left has an abundance of these folks as well, of course, but Pat and the boys who perpetrate this nonsense are no help to the conservative cause IMHO.
