Jake- I would NOT be happy if they increased revenue by $1 Billion, IF it did not positively impact net income and EPS. Revenue means NOTHING if you can't put a portion of it in your pocket (Think of it this way...lets say you had a salary of $1 million dollars...but you had to pay $500,000 in health care/travelling expenses and $500,000 in taxes). Make sense??

Regards,
Lowell

Jake -

"But, can somebody please give me an educated guess as to WHY the stock is not reacting to this news? Is it still too early? Are the financials that important to this stock, where a big deal like the merger will not budge the price?"

2 points:
First, remember the press release Jan 7 entitled "Firamada Announces Acquisition"?? So what is new today? This is old news. The new news is how it was financed which is good to see. Still vague on Myriad's #'s.. but ...

Second, traditionally when Company A aquires Company B, Company B's stock price spikes up and Company A's stock price drops. Since in our case Company B is private you can't see that, but you can see Company A (FAMH) price slightly drop. Once again.. slightly

Today's action confirms the importance of audited financials.

Agree with John F.. IF people dont like how they arrived to .10 EPS the price will drop again. Even though I agree with Jin that at .02 or .03 EPS the company is still undervalued at a price of .30, people will react to questionable ways of reaching .10 EPS and sell. Lots of people are on the edge, either about to jump IN or OUT. Hopefully for longs Ira is doing the books on the up and up.

Dont panic Jake, todays announcement wasnt a "surprise" to anyone.. you would see a spike with a positive surprise, not old news.
