Read Replies (1) | Respond to of 362466 Wisdomor Self red I often find wisdom here on SI, right where someone else left it. I am pretty certain your Republican readers would disagree with most of what you just said to me there, especially the part about <<as many people as possible>>. They might even say that the basic premise of your entire message was undermined before we even began. I once overheard a Republican deliver this message to someone here on SI. I think it is wisdom, what do you think? show some respect of opposing views, if that's even possible... no one knows anything, that include you, we're all trying to learn... no one is the authority on this thread, don't pretend to be any authority until you've earned it, so far you've not earned any credit here whatsoever... there are very few gurus at SI, I'm no guru and neither are you... try being a bit more modest and humble, it might help, okay? I am not sure if that is wisdom or not but I could certainly sell it as such to almost any reader on SI. I think you might have blind spots the same as I do or anyone else does, the thing about blind spots is we need others to point them out, we cannot see them ourselves. I have always thought that the more stuff we read, written by people we don't normally read, the more it helps us understand what we are tossing out. I don't want you to think that I am doing anything other than simply making a point about blind spots and why tossing out things that seem obvious you to you might end up with them being tossed back. I read just about anyone on SI and they don't get to tell me anything about their character at all, I place them where I think they should be placed based upon my perception of their posts. For the sake of old time's sake I will repost this koan. Two men stand on opposite banks of a river, "How do I get to the other side of the river?, one asked. "You are already there" was the reply.
