UV treatment should be given more consideration rather than as a Trumpian joke. It is widely used as a disinfectant for water, air, food processing, fresh vegetables, etc.etc.

Because so much of the transmission seems to be happening in institutional settings with closed HVAC systems, it seems to me two questions need to be answered.

(1) Does UV treatment kill the Covid virus? It kills most bacteria, viruses and other pathogens.

(2) Does the institution (nursing home, ship, hospital, eg.) have UV treatment on its HVAC system? The technology exists, but most older institutions probably do not have it installed.

A magic bullet from the experts may not arrive in time. My guess is that it will require multiple actions by ordinary people and existing technology.
