I didn't mean to pick on you, Andy. I just react when I see the "America the immoral" argument raising its head again. "America the stupid" I'd buy. I don't think it was wise to send GIs to do the fighting in Viet Nam, but foolish and immoral aren't the same. Guenther Lewy wrote a good book on the issue a few years back. The residents of Little Saigon who risked their lives to escape the communist defeat of South Viet Nam certainly don't agree that it was immoral to have helped them fight. Right now we are on the brink of a Second Gulf War, and like all wars it will be terrible for someone. And there will plenty of arguments over the wisdom and morality of fighting it.
