It seems like it was already started by the time it was put over the wire. DSL Lite: U ADSL is a proposed spec. to submit to the standards commitee. Most all this has been posted on the thread already. Lite modems will provide an always on condition. Aware is writing software to allow the ADI chip set to operate in a full ADSL or DSL Lite. Thus compatibility. Expect announcements on end to end solutions soon, not today. Timimg of the ADSL market should be late 98-early 99. Erricson is installing in 15 countrys. More OEMs will be announcing soon and deploying. Q & A is starting now. There was a congrats on the quarter. No comment at this time on the LU announced products. Alcatel is an important player in the UAWG, expect them to have G.Lite. Earlier they mentioned DSL Lite has advantages over G dot Lite. I'm a bit confused on this, may not have it right. Will Lite delay the full ADSL? No, Lite will ramp faster. Will G. Lite work with existing phone equip.? a filter at times may need to be installed in a home on occassion. Most home won't require any additional equip. I'll continue in a bit. Hope I'm not boring anyone.

CC cont: ADI chip set plan is to have DSP 56K and DSL Lite...they will disclose their plans soon. There are many questions not being answered because they are ready to announce things yet, but it sounds like sooner rather than later. Patents: There is a group called the adopters within the UAWG.
