Hadn't really thought about it in engineering terms... But, one issue... is that it being noisy isn't necessarily an "all of the time" problem. How often do you need to change the air ? I think I'll opt out of participation in the studies of the rate at which passengers de-gas as the cabin pressure changes... Seat cushions that suck ? LOL!! Might not be that hard to come up with filters that do a better job of addressing some of the problem. Give me the option of wearing an fresh/filtered air supply or O2 supply mask rather than sucking in the farts of a couple hundred other people ? Yeah... I'll take the mask...
