I agree the virus will wane and I think there's less likelihood of a substantial resurgence, although my belief is partly because business wants to avoid that so badly they are taking measures to make sure that is not going to happen.
But the last thing you said about breaking shale... could be something there but I think it was mainly opportunism. But definitely, the timing of the Russia/Saudi spat was at the worst apparently possible time, but in reality, it was at a critical knockout blow moment they they recognized.

I got an e-mail from Southwest today outlining what they are doing. And yes, I will feel safe to fly with them.

I just wish one of the airlines would write and say, OMG, we're so sorry we started cramming you all in there like freaking sardines and making you feel cramped and ill... we're giving you back 4" of legroom and we're taking away the 3-3-3 787 and replacing it with the 2-4-2 that gives you more shoulder room.

But... that probably won't happen. Middle rows will be empty for a few months at least.

CVX and XOM are very well capitalized and contrary to all the news this Covid 19 will decline and activity around the world will resume. This is the very best solution to the engineered glut of oil (at a most opportunistic time). We need to remember this bad deed, which was once again intended to break the shale oil revolution.
