Interesting. The LA Times article is behind a paywall. I've found with my paper that I can tell it to email a story... then tell the popup to use my browser and it sends a link I can share that isn't behind the paywall. But what you are saying is my "acquaintance" who sold out of the Bay Area real estate in 1998 and told me housing would be less than 10% of what it is today and said the Nasdaq would go to 500.... was right because he bought US Treasuries and strips since he felt we'd see massive deflation... but all his money won't help as he'll have lived for 30 years in the boonies towards Death Valley.... because as soon as he cashes in that money, the well connected will devalue it! My guess is we'll keep with the stealth tax and we keep "working" to stay ahead of where the puck is going plus my method of playing the ups and downs to generate income like riding waves... until they let the water out of the ocean and we're all F'ed....
