There is a problem Ben on Main frames and older sytems. About anything from what i am hearing that is recent won't have a problem but the larger companys have systems that have been operation for years apparently according to my son a computer science major it is hard to locate what to change. I look at this as less profit bottom line nothing else. As far as the y2k company run goes some are hyped but but one must look at ca and the likes of eds. I have no idea of the extent but i do know there is a cost factor. Ben, I'm afraid I can't agree with much of anything you have said and I certainly don't see how it could be a self-fulfilling prophesy. The problem is deffinetly there and those who chose to ignor it are in deep dodo that will place others in jeprody. JP Morgan did a study and put out a report on May 17/97. It's a 17 pager and a must read. They are doing updates and the last was in Aug. The May report is at: jpmorgan.com I think you will see it all in a different light once read. Those who are non-compliant will create havock for others and if it's caotic will drive gold skyward. JP Morgan also has an ongoing ECM calculator.
