Thanks.

My friend who moved to the boonies was correct that strip zero bonds would be a good investment long term, but he was wrong about stocks and real estate. For the last 20 years, I've lived in a nice area with 4 or 5x price appreciation in my home (land really) while he lives in the boonies and his home is probably worth about the same.

I saw that story in our local news. I think it is against CA law to express frustration about the burden on society from anyone unless their last name is Trump. Given his business was probably suffering and I don't think he is paid for his city council job, I think he'll be fine but for the lost opportunity to get business via networking and name recognition. I t is sad he lost his job for saying what is on the minds of many who are making great sacrifices to save people who don't and probably won't contribute to society.

Gov. Newsom, live on TV as I type with his daily briefing, just said the AA and Latinx communities suffer higher incidence of COVID-19 because they don't have jobs that allow them to telecommute and isolate at home. Instead they have to be in close contact with people and often require public transportation. It was a good reply on his feet to avoid the third rail of saying personal responsibility plays a big part in being in the position of low paying, high contact jobs... like not studying in school to get into college (we pay full tuition at the UC system for anyone who would be considered poor so the fact they don't take advantage of it is not about money... ) And you will probably lose the election if you hint people have health issues because they have a BMI above 40...
