As a native Oregonian I can tell you - Oregonians don't tan, they rust. :-)

Another study found that 30 minutes of midday summer sun exposure in Oslo, Norway was equivalent to consuming 10,000–20,000 IU of vitamin D.

I'm Olympia, WA now and my doctor recommended 10K vitamin D for awhile and then reduced it to 5K after she saw improvement to "normal" levels. Still doing 5k, not sure it's needed anymore - will find out if we can ever meet face to face again.
