Yes a bought MTSN at 6 11/16ths but I'm not sure brad's gonna sell soooo cheap. and yes u asked the ? at 34 my point is that if you're playing short term options moves of three bucks require big investments at end of options life to really pay off... my experiance of trading options on this stock is extensive.. and it tells me you need two 5% days to really move the opyion because there is so much implied vol in the price... as for my typing... I usually post when I'm pi**ed.

BB & Thread,

Hmmmmmm, so who to believe?? (a) H & Q, who was "nice" enough to telegraph their "upgrade" ahead of taking the action. (Some background on H&Q is below.)
(b) EGLS's management and KLAC's management who recently stated their BTB's were .84 and slightly below one, respectively.

Excerpt: "SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan 29 (Reuters) - Electroglas Inc said Thursday that orders had been reduced by deteriorating business conditions related to Asian economic turmoil and oversupply in the memory chip market, leaving the coming quarter in doubt.

''The decrease in orders has reduced our visibility for the coming quarter as customers are delaying capacity additions. As a result, we are cautious about the first part of 1998 and are managing expenses closely,'' said Curt Wozniak, Electroglas chief executive officer.

Wozniak, in a statement issued by the semiconductor equipment maker, added, ''Overall conditions for equipment purchases have slowed on a worldwide basis as customers are assessing their capacity needs for the coming year.''

Orders for the 1997 fourth quarter were $37.3 million, down from $41.8 million in the third quarter, and the book-to-bill ratio was 0.84, the company said. <end of snip>

Excerpt from the 2nd post:
"Mohan -
You know where I stand on AMAT. And the undying love and emotion I vest in each and every one of my holdings -NOT.
To quote Gus Richards <<He said over the past two months, Hambrecht has verified $5 billion to $5.5 billion in order cancellations and delays. >> This number is a little hard to understand.
1996 revenues
AMAT - 4 billion
KLAC/TNCR - 1 billion
PRIA - 100 million
So Gus is seeing push outs and cancellations GREATER than the total revenues these companies had last year. And AMAT tells me they just don't see it.
Is that what makes it a horse race?

PS. And this is LEGAL (I guess)! I must need many chill pills!! IMHO, H&Q is dtd (for those uninitiated, dumber than dirt). Just because they've hit my sensitivity button, they'll be right this time. (I'm CERTAINLY not putting my money on that though.)
