Australia is also in the Southern Hemisphere. The virus hit them in the summertime. It hit everyone else in cold weather where it would be more proficient in causing problems. . There are also other factors at work. Colorado just lowered its death toll by 25% because Covid-19 deaths were being ridiculously over-counted. They counted one death as a Covid death where the man had a blood alcohol rate of 0.55%. Obviously, the man really died of alcohol poisoning. This is the kind of madness that has caused trouble with gauging the real extent of the death toll.
