Not only DSC, check out NT. NT simply came in-line, and the stock went up 3-4 points today. Very odd. On a brighter note, TLAB is going to present at the Morgan Stanley conference at 8 p.m. est tonight. We'll see a pop tomorrow if they do a good job and the market performs well.

Regards,

Serry Habash

<< craig, could you please explain why TLAB is down -2 today
while beating 1cent? >>

Sorry I couldn't get back to you earlier but my posting priviliges were temporarily yanked. (Not SI's fault).

Actually TLAB beat by 1 cent fully diluted but were 2 cents ahead on their "basic" earnings. The only reason I point this out is because the street seems to be awfully selective in which one to use these days. Take MRK. They missed estimates by a penny if you use the diluted number. They beat expectations if you use the basic number. Bloomberg was saying they missed, while later in the day CNBC said they beat expectations. Apparently the market agreed with CNBC because MRK was pushed to all-time highs. Gillete just missed estimates on a fully diluted basis, but CNBC was quick to point out that they met the estimate with "basic" earnings. Let's see how the market and news services spin that one.

Also, TLAB made 42 cents with a higher tax rate (34%) than last year. The market was more forgiving of INTC who had something along the lines of a 4 cent gain from lower taxes, but greeted TLAB with a down 2 for their beating estimates with a higher tax rate. Go figure.

Anyway there is no need for me to try to guess why TLAB was down becuase the bulls answered back with a 5 point rise today.

Everything is back on track with TLAB. Back to it's regulary scheduled uptrend.
