Bill, it's clear to me that Trump is taking HCQ because of his massive ego. Even after many studies, there has not been any clear indication that the drug helps prevent or mitigate COVID-19 infections.

It's one thing if you're already infected and you just want to try anything available. But it's yet another if you're otherwise healthy and you think taking it is going to stop the spread of the coronavirus. It won't, and people who think otherwise are fooling themselves.

In a way, this reminds me of Steve Jobs, who thought he could beat his own cancer by eating "horseshit and horseshit roots" as his mentor Andy Grove put it. This kind of thinking arguably cost him his life, as it prevented him from getting early treatment which would have greatly increased his chances for survival.
