The E Bloc files had and have nothing to do with the state of the war and the combatants in 1945. The Soviet armies were the big dogs with the largest and best tank forces in the theater. We had a large advantage in strategic bombers and a qualitative advantage in artillery, but to fight them over eastern Europe would have been a cataclysmic mistake. And I really don't care about Hiss; Marshall and Eisenhower had a tremendous input to both the British and American formulations. Again, Duncan, you mistake history with political affiliation...
