I agree with that too.
Speaking on race there's some truth that if you're lower class you're more likely to get the virus.
I grew up with little money and saw first hand how so many would rather do drugs (alcohol and illegal drugs) in high school rather than study to get out of poverty. I grew up in Daly City which is and was one of the poorest cities here...

It takes a lot of hard work to get an education then keep using it with all the "stress coping mechanisms" we learned as kids... it was not easy quitting alcohol after I was addicted 31 years ago... pile on to kill us.

I still eat too much but exercise a lot so my numbers and tests are healthy... My MD said "you'd feel better if you lost 20#" so I lost 10# and keep trying to lose more... but as long as I don't drink or smoke (quit that addiction 23 yrs ago) and can windsurf or hike over an hour many times a week, I'm probably OK.

Anyway, what the poor lack is the time AND social pressure to eat right and exercise. God knows it is cheaper to buy canned chicken, tuna or sardines, make a sandwich on whole grain bread (if you must have the carbs) then have an apple and maybe a small handful of dark chocolate covered almonds for a very healthy lunch... but they pay more for crap food and the schools give the kids lunches that are not as good as that simple lunch...

My best buddy is Indian and vegetarian (atheist so he avoids meat as he didn't develop a taste for it) and we eat out once a month after hiking to the restaurant 1.8 miles away... he has to watch what he eats and has always been thin but many with similar diets in his family are obese... the fried Nam and other breads are chuck full of calories... so you have to be careful.

I LOVE Thai food too and just have to be careful to get brown rice and sometimes my GF and I split the rice so we take one bowl home.
