Actually, since my wife is an Indiana University Law School grad, I can speak with some authority on this. There are two IU law schools. One is in Bloomington, where the main campus is, and the other in Indianapolis. While IUPUI (the Indy campus) has recently moved up in the ratings, it was the "poor sister" when Dan got in. He was rejected to the IU Bloomington Law School, and finally accepted to the IU Indy Law School after some assistance from the Pulliams, his grandfather's family which owns the Indianapolis Star and one of the most prominent families in Indiana. I do not doubt, incidentally, that Gore may have pulled the same strings to get into Vandy, Bush to Yale, or Kennedy to Harvard (or Virginia, depending on which Kennedy). As I said earlier, the oldest Affirmative Action program in the country has been for white males who come from rich, politically powerful families...Republicans or Democrats...liberals or conservatives.
