Ken Starrs Statement RE: Right Wing Conspiracy Theory

"
The First Lady today accused this
Office of being part of "a vast
right-wing conspiracy." That is
nonsense. Our current
investigation began when we
received credible evidence of
serious federal crimes. We
promptly informed Attorney
General Reno, and she determined
that the allegations merited further
investigation. The Attorney
General and the Special Division
of the D.C. Circuit then authorized
us to conduct the investigation.
Our investigation is being carried
out by highly experienced federal
prosecutors, FBI agents, and
other law-enforcement
professionals, with major
decisions made through a
deliberative process. We are
working to complete the inquiry as
quickly and thoroughly as
possible."

Thank you, for putting into words the internal struggles that myself and my peers endured in that devisive faroff time. For my part I went the college route, but ran out of time/money/luck by the first lottery. It changed my life.

I don't reget becoming a part of the military in hindsight, though I begrudged it mightily those first several years. However at the tailend of the war years I switched over to Reserves and made a career of it. In November of 1992 I hit another struggle point.

I'm proud to say that I hung up the uniform, in part, at that time, to get the signature of a man whom I respected on my retirement certificate instead of the one who was to follow. Character is important, at least to me.
