I might agree with your hypothesis except... why are their results SO DIFFERENT? I didn't bring my copies of the papers home but I think I recall that, while both papers were generated from Ciba-Geigy labs, one was in Basle & the other in Cedex (operating solely from memory, so could very well be off base). It is not uncommon for two different labs to use different techniques. I still maintain that the technique used in the 1975 study is totally INVALID. There is absolutely zero information offered on any of the details of their method - extraction, etc. This data, presented as it is, has no validity. The 1981 paper spells out every detail of their method - so that any other knowledgeable chemist could duplicate it. Furthermore, let's assume you and I will never discover the truth on our own - Zonagen used exactly this assay in their work, and it seems to have satisfied SGP - surely they would be able to tell if the method is VALID? N'est pas? Hasn't anyone else out there gotten these papers? Where are all of our expert MD's?
