The old testing testing testing plan... make sure you have enuf tests. Take schools, fer instance. Do you know how many kits you need, just to test everybody once? I did some number crunching a few weeks ago.

The government says there will be 40M tests a month by Aug, and Lamar Alexander says there are 5000 colleges and 100, 000 schools, so we can open them, maybe.

That works out to 400 tests/school/month, if colleges are part of the 100K. There are 41,910 students at Cal, plus 1600 faculty and 24,700 employees. That works out to 1 test per 170 people per month, so, your kid has a pretty good chance of being tested if s/he stays in school for 170 months.

That's a good plan. Unfortunately, they can't get the testing right. I can't believe the antibody tests are still only about 50% accurate. I honestly believed that our biotech companies would be able to tackle that problem quickly. So even if we had Obama in place, instead of Trump, Obama doesn't have a magic wand to make biotech companies go faster, nor to make the CDC better. I mean, shoot. We have had the CDC in place forever. They were created for this exact situation. And they failed us. You blame Trump, but that's way to convenient. Trump is not a scientist. Both the WHO and the CDC failed in so many ways, that we can only call them both catastrophic failures. They need to both be completely revamped and reconstituted to be more effective.
