Yeah, yeah. Of course bandwidth will increase in various ways,
cable being one. I use one from home to type this, and I know it
is down for short periods (5-30 seconds typically) many times on
a day, and sometimes there is hours of downtime, due to a line
that cracks open to water etc. I hear the same from friends with
other providers. Of course, cable modems will only be competitive
if the existing net is used. They are at the moment not secure
enough either, I believe I can capture packets from my neighbors.
So it might be okay for web site browsing at home, but businesses
need line stability and security. And BT is for business, so I
dont think the two compete much, because they should appeal to
different customers.
