Fuchi, you are absolutely correct is saying that a cacheless PII is no faster than an M2-PR166. However, the link (CMP) stated that full-blown PII/266 CPUs will fall to $155 in June (the cacheless model will see $150 in April). Intel places their cost at just $40 and $20 of that is in the plastic case.

Ripley's Believe It Or Not?

The second link provided today (PC Week Online) shows a far more conservative price path for the PII.

Perhaps Intel is testing the waters will all manner of trial balloons .. to scare and confuse. I think I'll wait a few days and find out the truth.
