No apology from Bubba Wallace for needlessly alarming the nation. No apology from the BLM movement for creating such an atmosphere of fear that even something as innocuous as a rope hanging from a garage door can be seen as a "racist statement." Even ESPN hasn't edited this tweet. They're still claiming that "bullies" were responsible for putting up that "noose": Let's not forget about the "nooses" in Merritt Park in Oakland, which turned out to be exercise equipment: Even that fact didn't stop the mayor of Oakland from expressing righteous indignation: Reports that these were part of exercise equipment do not remove nor excuse their tortuous and terrorizing effects. We are all responsible for knowing the history and present-day reality of lynchings, hate crimes and racial violence. Objects that invoke such terror will not be tolerated in Oakland’s public spaces.
