256MB SDRAM by 2000 is not out of the question at all. The Koreans and
Japanese had prototypes as early as 1996:


His post was talking about DRAM not SDRAM. That is what I found disturbing and so did Meg. 256MB SDRAM is a reality and a viable product for faster Processors not DRAM.

BTW MU also has 256mb DRAM chips under way now and will have the 256mb SDRAM by 2000 also.
