Spoke with THQ IR today.

"The company does not comment on specific numbers sold on an particular title. We never have and we won't now."
"So let me tell what I can tell you."
--Retail sales of Pax Imperia have met company's expectations.
--Company had a product goal for Pax sales and they are very pleased with the results; expectations have been met.
--Company is quite aware of the 4th Q estimates the analysts have produced and is very comfortable with these estimates.

My thoughts: yes, I know, what IR person doesn't say 'We are comfortable.' But THQ's IR has never led me wrong - not true, in the past their conservative nature has led me to estimate lower than what actual earnings came to be.

Company knows that analysts' estimates have been raised over the last few months in part because of perceived Pax sales (WCW's success didn't hurt either). Yet, company is still quite happy with the street's numbers. Pax disaster? I think not. Reaching Todd's earlier estimates? Maybe, maybe not. Reaching the street's? Easy.

Judging by today's strength, others must be comfortable with 4th Q estimates as well.
