<<Clinton will very likely leave the US with a much more secure economic position than did Nixon>>

That's true, but mostly because he is such a weak president. Had he managed to take over the health care industry we would be in pretty sad shape economically speaking.

Don't you find it just fascinating that Hillary has adopted the complete Nixonian line of defense?

The historical parallels are just uncanny given Hillary's leading role on the House Judiciary Committee staff in preparing for Nixon's impeachment in 1974.

They're out to get us! They're out to get us! They couldn't defeat us so they're out to get us!

Remember:

If the law is on your side, argue the law.
If the facts are on your side, argue the facts.

If you have neither, POUND THE TABLE!!!

The Clintonians have decided to assassinate the character of anyone who wants to either get at or to tell the truth because they can't argue the facts or the law. That's what always worked before.

Highly risky strategy here, this ain't Arkansas and Starr has the power and authority to resist the onslaught. That tactic may just drive Monica to tell the truth and stiffen Starr's resolve. And it drives home how weak their position actually is.

Remember, the WH has delayed and delayed releasing the logs showing Monica's access to Willy. The WH has also sent the head of the SS to Starr to argue against getting testimony from SS agents. The President has no legal privilege to prevent that and they have testified before, as in Watergate.

That said, I hope he stays.
