The problem with any trade war is that it is unpredictable. Given that Apple, AMD, Nvidia, and now Intel, are using TSMC to manufacture many of their chips, and that TSMC won't have a fab in the United States until 2024, any tiff between the U.S. and China that bleeds over into Taiwan has the potential to be a serious issue for U.S. tech companies.
