Michael - great article! I'm curious about one part of the article...

<<With approximately $426 million in its cash reserves, Creative's acquisitions are likely to continue as it fills gaps in its product portfolio, Toh said.>>

Anyone on this thread care to hazard a guess as to what are the gaps in it's product portfolio and what companies might be able to fill those gaps?

Nicheal,
Thanks for the article.
I finished installing the Encore moved it to my home PC bought the Cambridge speakers $219 and took home PC 16plug and play AWE and put it in my NT workstation along with my old 8X cdrom (Creative of course) which were totally compatible and also bought my old speakers to the work station(music at work is nice but I am the boss). I will say this their are some needs for patience but the CREAF tech support was decent and helpful and not on hold. Worried that I got the same guy on the phone 3X at 11pm-midnight. I guess I am the only one having technical problems installing the Encore. Well my critical assessment is that CdRom is over, Cambridge is high fidelity and incredible and old cards are recyclable to your NT 4.0 workstation and compatible.
