The last time I looked at an alminac, US government in all its forms consumed nearly 48% of the US GDP (the Feds cut may be 20% but the states, counties, and cities often have their hands in your pockets as well). As an ex-pat I have to wonder why the infrastructure is crumbling and the schools are failig and social security is going bankrupt with a 2 1/2 trillion dollar budget. Lets see, 2 1/2 trillion:
$2,500,000.000,000.00

Fielding, if you and Max don't see anything wrong with the behavior
of the president and claim moral values have no place in politics I would bet you are probably from my generation (baby boomers).
Sadly people like yourself have caused this country many problems and as a country we have to pay a price for that type of behavior and we are.

As one who served in Vietnam I learned a long time ago the moral values of Mr Clinton....remember he didn't just avoid the draft but actually dodged it...in a most dishonorable way. Once you have done that what other moral values would you honor?? Remember Jennifer Flowers, now we know she was telling the truth and Clinton and his fans smeared her...but that is to be expected from people who claim to have no moral values, only political ones.

As far as his support among women, remember women will sleep with gang members, abusers, draft dodgers and always make excuses for them. Even feminists don't trust women in this area, after all they are always pushing laws where a man can be prosecuted even without the girlfriend or wife's official complaint. This will not be a popularity contest, that is how we got in this mess to begin with.

Sorry to go on and on, but it amazes me so many people claim to have no moral values, or say there is nothing wrong with politicians that they support having a lack of moral values. It is the lack of these values that cause almost all the problems you say you want to remedy....nuff said.

Why do you all assume that more government spending on education equals better education? Interesting rebuttal to that position in a recent Economist (I sound like a tout for them, eh?) that compared gov edu spending in various countries with economic success/growth, percentage of educated population, status of women, etc. Asian countries, especially Korea, Japan got lots more for their gov edu money than US or Germany. Of course this was before currency crisis. What is the relationship between gov spending on education and soundness of currency? Relationship between gov spending on science edu and success of biotechs? All kidding aside, we the people can spend our own money on education and make better individual dicisions than either the Republicans or Democrats have.
