penni, I too was confused after reading it. I think it is because of the ordering of the items. Usually it is stated as, "Starve a fever and feed a cold." By reversing them I think it has thrown us all off balance.

The difference between grudging and begrudging might be that begrudging suggests a wish to deprive, but I really don't know and am winging it.

Now the difference between get and fetch, I can explain, and so could Ralph and Laszlo (Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier and Hungarian Puli), with fetch including the actions of getting and bringing back.
