Larry, Did you ask him what their asp is? Did you ask him if they will make any $ in 98? Did you ask him about their ramp up cost and time frame for 64mb. Did you ask him if he would be willing to buy mu stock as an investment at $35? RR

Larry, I received a similar email from Brian and also called Micron. Apparently wherever we got the information on .25micron it was inaccurate. He indicated 100% at .300, but 16mb will be at .25 will little investment later this year. Also he indicated to me that 16mb chips was at 70% ...maybe even 80% SDRAM right now. As far as 64mb chips they are producing them now as the customer needs them, and if the customers increase the orders, MU does not expect any problem to ramp up to meet their demand. As far as crossover to 64mb, this may not occur until the latter part of this year when the 4:1 ratio is met. Memory module manufacturers do not care whether 16mb or 64mb chips are used as long as they are getting the best price to make 8,16,32 or 64 mbyte modules. MU makes 64mb DRAM and SDRAM right now and is expected to be mostly SDRAM looking forward. Also he indicated Microstamp is looking good with Shell oil co. using it for billing. MU, of course, feels they have to develop markets in order to create a need for their products... so it may take a while for their demand to really take off. Also Steve Appleton is dedicated to his position on the IMF issue so that MU can be competing on a level ground with asian markets. Of course this is reasonable and most of us knew this already. I think if anyone has other questions about MU, they should give Bob Clark a call. He picked up the phone right away, answered all questions candidly, and was easy to talk to. DavidG
