BTK includes 12 or 15 companies ONLY. Cor is one of them, its 50% drop alone may account for a big chunk, if not all (50/12), of the 3% decrease in the index.

Check the AMEX web site, if interested, for the exact composition and calculation of BTK.

I would say biotechs are doing well today. In my Quicken tracking portfolio gainers outnumber loosers 23 to 11 currently. This is much better than the NASDAQ were the ratio is 2000 to 1800.
Unfortunately Ligand has too much weight in my personal portfolio and prevents it from profiting today. And I think I have to begin to figure out if I get a margin call in my Datek trading account with LGNDW as biggest postition if LGNDW becomes nonmarginable due to dropping below $5.
